Our beautiful Victorian farm house will surround you with comfort, allowing you to relax and unwind, with all the modern conveniences including wifi . Built on 2 acres in 1903 by world renown inventor, Harry Smith, it reflects the history and charm of a bygone era.

THE INN ON SMITH'S HILL IS A HISTORICAL VICTORIAN FARMHOUSE BUILT IN 1903 BY NATIONALLY RENOWNED INVENTOR AND ELECTRICAL ENGINEER, HARRY SMITH. MR  SMITH  HELD OVER  400 PATENTS WHILE ASSOCIATED WITH GM/DELCO REMY AND CHARLES KETTERING, INVENTOR OF THE ELECTRIC STARTER FOR THE AUTOMOBILE IN 1909. GUEST OF THE SMITH HOME INCLUDED MR KETTERING, THOMAS EDISON, HENRY FORD, BROTHERS WILBUR AND ORVILLE WRIGHT, AND LOUIS BROMFIELD. AT AGE 19, SMITH BUILT, MANAGED AND OWNED THE OHIO ELECTRIC POWER COMPANY  WHILE  STILL AN ENGINEERING  STUDENT AT THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY.  HE LATER SOLD THE PLANT TO THE OHIO EDISON COMPANY IN 1917. FROM 1918 THRU 1939, HE WAS THE CHIEF ENGINEER FOR DELCO/REMY IN DAYTON OHIO. THROUGHOUT  THEIR LIFETIME, MR SMITH AND HIS WIFE CARRIE WERE GIVING LOCAL PHILANTHROPISTS , BOTH WITH THEIR TIME AND RESOURCES. THEY HAD 4 CHILDREN AND THEIR GREAT GRANDCHILDREN ARE STILL PROMINENT BUSINESS PEOPLE IN THE LEXINGTON AREA.

THE INN WAS ACQUIRED IN 2014 BY PAMELA AND DAVID WALERI, WHO HAVE MANY YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN THE HOSPITALITY FIELD. THE INN HAS 14 ROOMS AND 5 BEDROOMS, EACH WITH ENSUITE BATHROOMS, AIR CONDITIONING, AND PERIOD DECOR. BREAKFAST , AFTERNOON TEAS  AND COCKTAILS  ARE SERVED IN THE SUNROOM , ON BACKYARD DECK OR EXPANSIVE FRONT PORCH OVERLOOKING SMITH'S HILL, RENOWN BY EVERY 10 YEAR OLD FOR THE LAST  115 YEARS AS THE BEST SLEDDING HILL IN LEXINGTON. THE INN HAS ONE ROOM WITH 3 EXTRA LONG TWIN BEDS, THREE ROOMS WITH QUEEN BEDS, AND A KING SUITE WITH AN ADDITIONAL SINGE BED AND A ROMANTIC TURRANT OVERLOOKING CLEARFORK VALLEY (ALL WITH INROOM BATHROOMS) . THE PROPERTY INCLUDES 2 ROLLING ACRES, 2 SECURE GARAGES AND A OUTDOOR PARTY ROOM WITH KITCHEN. IT IS AN IDEAL QUIET RETREAT FROM THE DISRUPTION OF YOUR DAILY ROUTINE.

THE INN IS VERY ACTIVITIES ORIENTED, BEING ONLY 2 MILES FROM THE MID OHIO RACE COURSE WHICH HOSTS 26 WEEKENDS OF RACING INCLUDING NASCAR, INDY, MOTORCYCLE, VINTAGE AND SEMI PRO SPORTS CAR ENTHUSIASTS. IT IS ALSO ONLY 5 MILES FROM SNOW TRAILS SKI RESORT, OHIO'S PREMIER SKI SLOPES, 10 MILES FROM MOHICAN STATE PARK, THE OLD OHIO REFORMITORY, SITE OF THE FILMING OF  "THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION", MALABAR FARM, HOME OF PULITZER PRIZE AUTHOR LOUIS BROMFIELD AND SITE OF HUMPHREY BOGART AND LUAREN BECALL'S WEDDING IT IS .ONLY 2 BLOCKS FROM THE 1/2 POINT OF THE 18 MILE B & O RAILROAD BICYCLE PATH. THE INN'S  IDEAL AND AVAILABLE FOR A WHOLE HOUSE RENTALS. IT ACCOMODATES 12 PEOPLE IN 8 SEPARATE BEDS AND IS WELL SUITED FOR SKI CLUBS, CHURCH RETREATS, WEDDING PARTIES, CAR CLUBS AND RACING TEAMS, AND FAMILY REUNIONS. RATES FOR 3 TO 7 DAYS ARE AS LOW AS $325 PER DAY AND CAN  ARRANGED WITH A PRIVATE CHEF, DRIVER AND MASSAGE THERAPIST.
